  • Lent 2020

    Fri 28 Feb 2020 J. MacDonald
This week we began the season of Lent with special Ash Wednesday liturgies for KS1 & KS2. The children thought about ways they can grow and change in Lent and as a school we asked the children and staff to create fish that contained their Lenten Promise to add to our Lent prayer area. The Mini Vinnies launched their Lent Prayer group, every Wednesday lunchtime and also their Lenten Challenge - to fill the class bottles with 1p,2p and 5ps which will support our chosen charities; Maggies Newcastle, Legacare Newcastle and SVP. Further information can be found in our Lent Blog in the Newsletter section

  • Children's Mental Health Week 2020

    Fri 07 Feb 2020 J.MacDonald

This week we have been taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme of the week was ‘Find your Brave’ and we invited the children to think about how they can be brave, ask for help when they need it and know it’s ok to get things wrong. They explored how mistakes are an important part of learning and how they can develop their bravery at home and at school. The useful information section of our parents page contains a list of child-friendly books which can be used to support children with their emotions and mental health.
