School Meals Information

Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust provides the school meals service for our school.  All meals are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  St. Mary's benefits from an experienced cook, Lesley Keddy, who prepares tasty, nutritious meals daily in our on-site kitchen.  Children are offered an extensive choice from pre-planned menus which run on a 2-week cycle and can be viewed using the links below.

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and year 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals but parents must complete an application to claim this for their child.  From Year 3 onward some pupils may continue to be entitled to free school meals and again parents must complete the necessary application form to make their claim. Information about eligibility for free school meals and forms to claim them can be accessed using the link below.

School meals are priced at £2.50 per day and should be paid for in advance using our Parent Mail App.  For information on how this system works please contact the school office.

Medically Prescribed Diets

If your child requires a medically prescribed diet such as gluten, egg or milk free due to an allergy or intolerance to certain foods, you must contact our school cook, Lesley Keddy.

Our cook will need to speak to you directly to discuss your child's specific dietary requirements and agree menu choices for them. Please phone school to arrange an appointment with her.

From a safety point of view, we can not provide your child with a meal until you have agreed a menu with our school cook.
