St Mary’s Catholic Primary School ‘Faith in Education’

School Mission and Values

Mission Statement

“Faith in Education”

We are a welcoming Christ centred community, committed to the development of faith and worship alongside excellence in education.

We aim to

  • Provide all members of the school community with the opportunity to experience God’s loving care; through prayer worship and witness in an atmosphere where every individual feels loved and valued.
  • Create a secure, enriching place of learning where all experience quality teaching and are inspired and empowered to develop their talents and skills, achieving their true potential as unique individuals.
  • Foster positive relationships in school as well as with home, parish and the wider community, in order to create an environment where kindness, justice, tolerance, forgiveness and friendship are unconditional and inclusive.

St Mary’s is a safe place where we can all belong, feeling confident, equipped and excited to embrace the future.

School Values

As a Catholic community strong values underpin all that we do.  We deliver a discreet values curriculum which permeates all curriculum areas and all aspects of school life.  Our core value is 'treat other people as you would wish to be treated' and this alongside the other values we explore shape our character and our moral perspective.  We use this learning to guide and evaluate our actions and interactions and help us to thrive as a harmonious community.
