During their time at school some pupils may need additional support to meet their needs. This support may be required on a short or longer term basis. Some pupils additional needs may mean that they are identified as pupils who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities(SEND).
Pupils who have SEND will be supported by the school using a variety of different approaches depending on their individual needs. We will work closely with parents and if appropriate external agencies to ensure this package of support is delivered in the best way.
SEND needs fall into four main categories Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Sensory and/or Physical needs. SEMH is the fastest growing SEND category in schools.
