 Teaching Support Assistant Level 3

Fixed Term (until 31st August 2025) Part time post 20 hrs per week term time only plus 5 training days

Grade BB04 £24,294 - £25,119 per annum pro-rata Actual salary £11,276 – £11,659 per annum    Commencing 15th April 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter

 

St. Mary’s governors are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work as part of our staff team.  The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with a positive staff team, a supportive governing body and most importantly well motivated engaging children.

 

You will be required to work under the guidance/direction of the HT, SENDCO and class teachers.  

Aspects of the role could include:

 

• supporting pupils learning needs to ensure their SEND plan is delivered

• preparing the classroom for lessons

• helping pupils who need extra support to complete tasks, individually and in groups

• displaying work and supporting admin tasks

• looking after children who are unwell/upset or have had accidents

• listening to pupils read, reading to them, or telling them stories

• helping with outings and sports events

 

Qualifications, experience and/or skills desired:

 

• The ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload

• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills

• The ability to manage groups of pupils effectively

• Experience of working with children in a school context preferably at KS2

• Teaching Assistant Qualification Level 2 or equivalent/higher qualification

• A First Aid qualification

 

The successful candidate may be deployed to other roles in school such as lunch time supervisory roles.

 

The governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and a range of other recruitment checks.

 

The person appointed will be required to sign the Catholic Education Service Contract.
