  • Christmas Events

    Fri 22 Dec 2023

We have had some wonderful Christmas performances over the last couple of weeks.  Children in Nursery and Reception told the Nativity story using the play Away in a Manger, and Year 1 and 2 used the Innkeepers Breakfast.  Our children in Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 told the Christmas story through Scripture and Song.  Each performance was wonderful, the children remembered their lines and delivered them with confidence and sang beautifully.  As a staff we were extremely proud of them.

We invited parents and family members to show their appreciation for the children’s efforts by contributing to our collection for North Shields Salvation Army to help them ensure that all homeless people in our locality had a home cooked dinner and somewhere warm to spend Christmas Day.

Our collection raised £570.58p and when the officer came to collect it he explained to the children how it would help and expressed his deep gratitude for their efforts.

  • A visit to Durham University

    Mon 11 Dec 2023 J MacDonald

They handled 2500 year old artefacts, acted out the tragedy ‘Medea’ and created votive sculptures from clay!

  • Musical Assembly

    Mon 11 Dec 2023

This morning our children who have instrumental tuition in school provided a wonderful concert during which they entertained us with their wonderful performances.

We had children playing piano, keyboard, violin, cello, recorder, flute and for the first time trombone.

It takes great courage to perform for an audience and each of these children showed wonderful composure and confidence as they played for an audience of their peers, parents and wider family members.

I would like to say thank you to all our peripatetic teachers who visit school weekly to teach these children and a huge ‘well done’ to all our performers who are working so hard to learn their instruments.
