Today we welcomed Father David from the Wallsend Parishes to share his charity work in Muhoroni in Kenya. He told us how the women make sisal baskets which enables them to earn a living. We were able to buy baskets for all of our class prayer tables to support this wonderful work
We gathered as a school community to celebrate our patron saint and Holy Mother, Mary. Through song, scripture and prayer we celebrated her and gave thanks for her life and her mission. We processed back to school and adorned our statue of Mary with flowers as a sign of our love and respect.
Some of our Year 6 pupils took part in the North Tyneside Athletics Festival. They competed in a range of events and whilst some were winners, all showed resilience and determination.
Congratulations to our Y4 pupils who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion at St Mary’s church today. The church was full with members of their families, friends, Catechists and members of our Parish who were delighted to witness this wonderful event and support them on their faith journey.
History makers - our 2023 girls football team enter the school history books! They played in the semi-final of the Northern Cross Cup football tournament at St Stephen’s school on Tuesday 16th May winning 6-0 against their first opponents and gaining a draw 0-0 against their second opponent to progress to the final. Considering around half of these girls hadn’t had a competitive football game before this year, this is an amazing achievement. The girls showed skill, style & great sportsmanship and we wish them luck as they seek to win the Northern Cross Cup.
Year 2 enjoyed a visit from Mr Bateman from the RNLI as part of their work on Grace Darling. They learnt about the work of the RNLI and what their volunteers do to save lives.
