Mindful March
This month, Action for Happiness encourages us to pause, breathe and notice so we can develop our mental health and wellbeing and respond more mindfully.
Today our children have celebrated World Book Day by bringing a 'Book in a Bag' to school. They collected a variety of clues about their book which they put in the bag provided. They then shared the clues with the their classmates who tried to identify the book based on the clues provided and some well thought out questions. The children really enjoyed this task and showcased some excellent inference skills as they worked to identify the books selected.
In the afternoon the children gathered in their 'Houses' for some book/reading based tasks. This is the first time the children have been able to work in houses since the pandemic struck, so for our Y1 and Reception class children their first experience of 'House Time'. All houses reported having had a lovely afternoon spending time with children from other classes across school thinking and talking about books. The day has provided a great opportunity for the children to experience the enjoyment and pleasure reading gives and it was lovely to observe them interacting so positively about the books they are reading.
