  • Mrs Scott Retires today!

    Fri 19 Jul 2019
Today we said 'Happy Retirement' to Mrs Scott.  Mrs Scott has had a long association with St. Mary's and has experienced it in many different roles.  She was one of the first pupils to be admitted to the school when it opened in 1964 with Mr. Carr and Sister Paul.  As an adult she chose St. Mary's as the school her boys would attend and so experienced it as a parent and then lastly in 1995 she joined the staff team as the Nursery Nurse in our Nursery.  Over the last 24 years many children have enjoyed learning and growing under her guidance and support.  She has taught many children how to sparkle and shine in their own ways as they discover their talents and learn new skills.  We hope that she will be blessed with good health to enjoy a long and very happy retirement.  Mrs Scott a huge heartfelt 'Thank you' from everyone at St. Mary's - we will miss you!
  • Sports Day 2019

    Fri 12 Jul 2019

Hooray, the sun shone on us and sports day went ahead as planned!

The whole school took part in our annual sports day, we competed in our houses to see which house would be crowned sports day champions 2019.

There were several races for each year group and everyone who crossed the finish line earned a sticker to put on our leader board.  Stickers mean points so when the races were over we added up the value of the stickers and St. Mary's were crowned as champions.  Mrs Miley was very proud of all her house members as she presented the medals.  Well done everyone for great effort and sportsmanship.

  • Leavers Assembly

    Fri 12 Jul 2019

This morning our Year 6 pupils did their final class assembly at St. Mary's.

They used the theme 'I'm a Year 6 get me out of here!'.

They were set challenges - singing, dancing, sporting skills, playing musical instruments even a bit of stand up - to win stars to enable them to leave the Jungle - whoops I mean school!  These challenges gave them a chance to reflect on their time here, tell funny stories and show off their skills and talents.

Year 6 you gave a fabulous performance.  You have been a wonderful year group, it has been a pleasure to watch you learn and grow and we know that whatever High School you move on to you will be amazing.  Dream big, believe you can remember Mr. Miley's motto 'work hard, play hard' and most importantly be happy as you move on to the next chapter in your lives.  Good luck we will miss you all!
