Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
During the season of Advent as we lit each candle on our Advent wreath we thought about Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. As a school community we recognised the many blessings we have in our lives and wanted to do something to help those less fortunate than ourselves. We decided to run a raffle and take a collection at the end of our Christmas performances in order to raise money to support our local Salvation Army in ensuring that people in our locality who are homeless or alone have a warm place to spend the day and a tasty Christmas dinner.
Our families were incredibly generous in their support of this and we raised £902.35. Major Ashton from North Shields Salvation Army came to school where two of our children presented him with a cheque. He explained to the children how this would help informing us that they have provided over 400 present packs for children and are anticipating the largest attendance ever at their Christmas dinner. He was overwhelmed by our school community's generosity and asked the children to pass on his thanks.
On behalf of the Mini Vinnies we wanted to thank you for your incredibly generosity in our Christmas Raffle. Thanks to your kindness we raised a wonderful £431 and today the Mini Vinnies have ordered
Thank you again for all your support
Thank you so much for all of your amazing donations over toiletries and household items. We were blown away by your kindness and they were gratefully received by TheBAYFoodbank. Many thanks to our Mini Vinnies for organising the donations and to Mr Blackwell for delivering them
The children in Key Stage 1 enjoyed an Advent morning as part of their Advent preparations. They made Advent Wreaths and candle holders to help them shine their light in Advent. They also created baby Bambinellis which follow the Italian tradition each Gaudatte Sunday. The children will place these under their tree and open them on Christmas morning to help them remember the greatest gift we will receive - Jesus.
