World Book Day

Happy World Book Day Everyone!

World Book Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate and share our love of reading.  Given the times we are living in we have opted to have ‘The Masked Reader’ as our theme for the day.  The staff have read the blurb of their favourite book behind a mask (see the video link below) and the children are challenged to name the person behind the mask.  Our children have been busy making masks for their favourite book character and we will have a Mask Parade of our book characters via Teams so that our children learning at home and school can take part.   Our staff have been given a reading treat to enjoy too.  We hope that today gives everyone the opportunity to connect with a book and to remember what a pleasure it can be to escape into the world of a good book.  Particularly at this time when we are all living under the restrictions of lockdown it’s wonderful to be transported into the world and lives of the characters in our current book.
