Key Stage 1 Advent Activities

The children in Year 1 & 2 took part in some special Advent Activities this year. 
They celebrated Bambellini Sunday by making their own Bambellinis. This is an Italian tradition where families take the baby Jesus from their cribs and have them blessed by the Pope on the 3rd Sunday in Advent. Our children took their Bambellinis to Mass to be blessed and then wrapped them up and placed them under their Christmas trees. The children agreed to open this gift first, to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Secondly, the children donated to the Christmas Book Bank Project run by Pauline Media at St Mary’s Cathedral. With their donations we were able to purchase 4 books that would be given to local children in hospitals or in need in our local parishes.
