On Friday 13th of December the Christmas celebrations began in earnest at St. Mary's. Our amazing PTA organised our annual Christmas Fair and we were delighted that Santa came to visit our children - the great news is that he said all St. Mary's boys and girls are on the 'Good' list.
The celebrations continued on Tuesday 17th with our Nativity play 'Born in a Barn'. The children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were fantastic, the actors delivered their lines brilliantly and the singing and dancing was excellent. Then on Thursday 19th our older children, Year 3, 4, 5 and 6, hosted a Carol Service where they enabled the congregation to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas with some carefully chosen scripture readings and songs. The children read and sang beautifully, it was a really uplifting service that gave us all the opportunity to be still and reflect on why Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. A huge thank you to our children's parents, extended families and friends for their ongoing support and for the generous donations they made to our collections at the end of the performances. We will be donating the proceeds to the Salvation Army in North Shields to support their 'Help the Homeless' project. Wishing you all a Christmas filled with peace, joy and many many blessings.
