Breakfast with Bland

We chatted about what they are currently reading, we debated fiction or non-fiction and shared how we choose the books we read. The children were delightful and it was a lovely start to my day - thank you all for joining me." Mrs Bland

KS1 Advent Morning
This morning the children in Key Stage 1 enjoyed an Advent morning. We created some crafts that helped us to remember the season of Advent. One of these is the Bambinelli. In Italy on the third Sunday of Advent, children take a wooden baby Jesus to Mass to have it blessed. They then wrap it up and place it under their tree. On Christmas morning they unwrap the baby Jesus first to help them remember the true meaning of Christmas. The children are bringing home their Bambinelli

We learnt about what type of people would have lived in a castle, what their jobs were and what they would have ate. We even made our own medieval food plates and imagined what it would be like eating food like this everyday.
