Visit from Alan Campbell MP

As part of our work on Social Justice and to complement our work in the Year of Mary, the whole school took part in the Send my Friend to School campaign. The children learnt about the 61 million primary aged children across the world who cannot go to school. They talked about what they love about St Mary’s and the importance of a good education in a safe environment. The children then made posters about what made a safe school. We were so moved by this appeal that the children decided to make a difference and add their voices to the thousands of other school children by asking the government to take action. Today we welcomed our local MP, Alan Campbell to school and he met with representatives from KS2 classes. They told him all about the campaign and he agreed to take our posters (and letters written by Year 4) to the Prime Minister on our behalf. Find out more about this campaign at
