Christmas 2020

Peace and Joy to all this Christmas!

2020 brings with it a very different Christmas for us all.  Here at school we would usually have welcomed you along to our Nursery and KS1 Nativity performances and our KS2 Carols by Candlelight Service.  The current restrictions due to Covid-19 mean that sadly these things can’t happen.

The children have been exploring the meaning of Christmas through their Advent RE topic and we wanted to do something to help our families reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Our Nursery Class have been learning about the First Christmas and have used the Talk for Writing approach to share this story with you in their own special way.   Across the rest of the school each class has taken a part of the Nativity story and decided how to share that through drama, dance, scripture passages and song.  Each class has recorded their part and we have put this together to make a whole school Nativity Performance.

We hope you enjoy the children’s efforts and everyone at St Mary’s wishes you a very Happy Christmas with every good wish for a fabulous 2021.

From the staff and pupils at St. Mary’s
